    Working Hours: 8-hour days (Flex-time available)

    Overview:
    A global manufacturing company in medical/ pharmaceutical sectors is seeking a Bilingual Japanese Manager to join their legal department. The Legal Manager will perform the daily legal operations of the company including drafting and reviewing of contracts, providing legal support across various departments, and liaising with the Japanese headquarters.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include but not are Limited to:
    * Draft and review contracts, agreements, and legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    * Conduct legal research and prepare presentations as necessary.
    * Address compliance issues with federal and state agencies, including the State of California, the United States Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and others.
    * Prepare for and participate in shareholder/directors meetings and compliance reporting.
    * Handle intellectual property cases in collaboration with external counsel.
    * Communicate legal matters to C-level officers, foreign subsidiaries, and Japanese headquarters, attending and presenting at meetings as required.
    * Manage records and document retention for legal documents, both electronically and in paper format.
    * Handle communication with external professionals, including law firms.
    * Manage litigation schedules efficiently.
    * Organize and attend legal meetings, taking minutes as necessary.
    * Provide general office support to the legal department, including clerical duties.
    * Perform any additional tasks assigned by supervisors.

    Qualifications:
    * Japanese and English bilingual skills (reading, writing and speaking).
    * 7-10 years of relevant experience in either in-house legal departments and/or law firm.
    * JD or LLM from an ABA accredited law school or a globally recognized law institution (preferred)
    * Active license to practice law in California/New York and/or Japan; or Paralegal certificate or other legal-related certification (preferred)
    * Prior experience within legal departments of medical device, medical equipment, or pharmaceutical companies, whether gained in law firms or in-house roles (preferred)

Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
