Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining user assistance for Oracle Analytics services. Collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality user assistance assets to our customers.
Create a variety of user assistance for your assigned products, which can include documentation, tutorials, videos, and embedded help in the UI, following user assistance development processes, templates, and standards using various tools and systems. Collaborate with internal stakeholders on teams such as Development, Product Management, and Customer Support to identify customer requirements and to develop and maintain the assets for these products. Respond to queries on help forums or mailing lists, and act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned products. Participate in internal tasks forces related to user assistance and other technical matters. Participate in discussions at user assistance and feature team meetings. Ensure best practices for usability of user assistance by involving SMEs and customers in user needs analysis.
Job duties are varied and sophisticated, utilizing independent judgment and flexibility. Demonstrate functional knowledge of Windows and Linux or UNIX. Possess a degree, certificate, or relevant proven experience. Suggested majors include English, technical writing, communications, instructional design, software engineering, or computer science. Minimum of 6 years of user assistance development or relevant experience. Proven ability to develop new material and coordinate it logically is critical, as is the ability to write in a natural, "conversational" style. You must be willing to regularly meet with peers and stakeholders in a variety of time zones, and be comfortable working within a geographically dispersed and highly collaborative team. Our user assistance team works closely together: sharing topics among guides, performing peer reviews, and assisting each other as needed when deadlines near.
