Technical Training Manager leads the design and delivery of technical training programs. Determines training objectives by conducting analysis of overall needs and specific skill or knowledge gaps. Being a Technical Training Manager manages the development of training programs and materials including outlines, text, handouts, hands on exercises, and training evaluations. Establishes processes to monitor results and collect feedback on training instructors to determine effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Technical Training Manager assesses and manages any contractors utilized to deliver specialized training. May manage IT, product, or equipment training depending on the industry and setting. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to an director. The Technical Training Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Technical Training Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job responsibilities: Directly supervises the construction trades supervisor, certification trainer, designated career technical training instructors and secretary. Responsible for the management of career technical training programs which includes on- and off-center training, national contractor training, and CTST projects management.



    Essential functions:


    • Plan, coordinate and manage the administrative and programmatic activities of the department
    • Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance, and implement departmental changes as approved by the center director and coordinated with the manager
    • Develop departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures, and review and recommend changes to budget authorizations
    • Develop and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting assigned departments; coordinate with other departments to ensure compliance of overall center objectives
    • Regularly assess and audit department for contractual compliance and quality of services to students; prepare audit and assessment reports



    Education and Experience Requirements:


    • Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience OR post-secondary education/ technical training and 6 years related experience
    • 2 must be in a supervisor capacity
    • Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency required
    • A valid driver license in the state where the facility is located with an acceptable driving record is required, unless waived by management.
