Technical Training Manager leads the design and delivery of technical training programs. Determines training objectives by conducting analysis of overall needs and specific skill or knowledge gaps. Being a Technical Training Manager manages the development of training programs and materials including outlines, text, handouts, hands on exercises, and training evaluations. Establishes processes to monitor results and collect feedback on training instructors to determine effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Technical Training Manager assesses and manages any contractors utilized to deliver specialized training. May manage IT, product, or equipment training depending on the industry and setting. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to an director. The Technical Training Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others. Responsible for developing and coordinating and administering technical, safety and environmental training. Interprets and advises field supervision of operational codes, standards, and local, state, and federal laws to ensure understanding and compliance. Responsible for the coordination, implementation, training and compliance of Company Safety & Technical rules and regulations. - Collaborate with department managers to assess training needs and develop training plans
- Design and develop curriculum for various training programs, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives
- Utilize instructional design principles to create engaging and interactive training materials
- Research and stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in training and development
- Present training materials to employees, utilizing effective communication and presentation skills
- Coordinate logistics for training sessions, including scheduling, room setup, and equipment preparation
- Monitor the effectiveness of training programs through assessments and evaluations
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and relevance of training content
- Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) to track employee progress and completion of training modules
- Assist in the development of e-learning modules using SCORM compliant authoring tools
- Support the content development process by editing, proofreading, and formatting training materials
- Provide project management support for large-scale training initiatives
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Human Resources, or a related field
- Proven experience in curriculum development and instructional design principles
- Strong knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms
- Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
