Technical Training Manager leads the design and delivery of technical training programs. Determines training objectives by conducting analysis of overall needs and specific skill or knowledge gaps. Being a Technical Training Manager manages the development of training programs and materials including outlines, text, handouts, hands on exercises, and training evaluations. Establishes processes to monitor results and collect feedback on training instructors to determine effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Technical Training Manager assesses and manages any contractors utilized to deliver specialized training. May manage IT, product, or equipment training depending on the industry and setting. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to an director. The Technical Training Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Technical Training Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We are seeking an Operations Manager to join our Anchorage, AK team! Come join us!

    Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
    The Office Manager oversees and directs all operations, business development, and accounting activities for a Spoke Office, in a specific geographic area . Management duties include project management, supervision, training and oversight of work of technicians and other professional staff. Further, Office Manager participates in company marketing, sales and corporate development activities, including development of department budgets, management of select projects, client relationship, service and management. Finally, office manager is ultimately accountable for all project quality and performance as well as profitability and revenue. Tasks Include:

    Oversees daily activities, solving problems as needed, and monitoring quality control activities of the department.

    Provides oversight in the area of quality control to ensure that project specifications are met and the work meets the standards.

    Provides mentoring and staff development activities to assist staff in pursuing professional licensing and certifications.

    Performs project management duties as needed

    Supervises directs field staff as required to perform work to acceptable quality standards.

    Assist in the development and training of Office personnel.

    Evaluates protocols and procedures employed by staff to ensure project specifications are met.

    Assists in matters of office administration and project management ( including direct personal involvement in field work, proposals, presentations and estimating ), developing regional revenue goals and annual budgets.

    Ensures that office under his/her supervision attains and maintains desired certifications and registrations.

    Performs field activities, as needed, to ensure projects are being handled correctly and that the quality standards are achieved.

    Performs administrative departmental functions including review of employees’ timesheets for correctness, punctuality, and to limit non-billable hours.

    Coordinates the work schedule (both field and laboratory), monitors the quality of the work produced, and ensures that each project’s Scope of Work is fulfilled.

    Prepares written reports; reviews staff’s reports and monitors turn-around times for projects.

    Provides peer-review for other professionals of designs, reports and other documents.

    Develops and presents verbal and written proposals, reports, interacts with owners, architects and/or consulting engineers, and prospective clients.

    Makes professional and technical recommendations regarding project design and/or corrective measures.

    Problem solves and determines compliance issue resolutions.

    Participates in sales and marketing efforts in the region.

    Pursues work on behalf of the services provided; prepares or coordinates for estimates and bids to be prepared for potential work, and is involved in other business development activities.

    Performs client billing reviews.

    Performs review of Profit & Loss Statement and monitors the department’s revenue and expense budgets.

    Develops and monitors office budgets for revenue and expense, including percentages of billable time.

    Attends and participates in manager’s meetings, other management meetings, strategic planning meetings, and establishing revenue goals and departmental/office budgets.

    Develops and implements long-range strategic activities for the office.

    Strives to see that the office accomplishes the stated Mission of the company, and that Atlas’ Values, Goals and Objectives are met, and demonstrates and personifies an attitude of professionalism, customer service, work ethic and the positive spirit for all employees in the office.

    Minimum Requirements:
    B.S degree in environmental science, geology, engineering, industrial hygiene or related field; M.S. degree or Certification a plus.
    Professional license or certification in recognized engineering, geology or EHS specialty a plus.
    10 years of operations management experience including 5 years of direct responsibility managing programs or projects, supervising staff, providing QA/QC of deliverables, and assisting with business development.
    Experience in a similar role with an environmental/engineering consulting firm a plus.
    Excellent leadership and client management skills.
    Basic management and supervision training
    Understanding of Business Math and Financial Statement analysis and P&L management experience.

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet organization and project objectives
    Ability to interact with individuals – ranging from other corporate and government entities, to construction management and field workers.
    Good verbal and written communication skills and professional demeanor.

    Blueprint reading and Specification interpretation.
    Understanding of human resources management and employment practices.
    Strong work and business ethic; personal integrity; customer-service orientation.
    Ability to “think outside the box,” in future planning and business development.
    Amicable, work well with other employees and construction-related personnel as well as company and project management.

    Other miscellaneous qualities:
    Ability to drive safely and main alertness in varying driving conditions, including poor road conditions, long distances
    Ability to maintain safety consciousness at all times while working.
