    The HVAC Technical Trainer will design and conduct training and development programs to improve individual and organizational performance. The trainer determines training objectives, and assesses technical needs through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultation with managers. The trainer also provides technical support to field, office personnel, and frontline managers.

    RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES

    • Writes training programs, including outlines, text, handouts, and tests.
    • Offer specific technical training programs to help workers maintain or improve job skills.
    • Lectures class on safety, installation, programming, maintenance, machinery, and equipment, following outline, handouts, and texts.
    • Present information using a variety of instructional techniques or formats, such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, or lectures.
    • Administers written and practical exams and writes performance reports to evaluate trainees' performance.
    • Obtain, organize, or develop training procedure manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or visual materials.
    • Conducts course feedback evaluation to determine measurements of training success or areas of improvement.
    • Maintains quality training by establishing and enforcing organization standards of practice and protocol.
    • Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities or program effectiveness and file documentation.
    • Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.
    • Evaluate training materials used for instruction, such as outlines, texts, or handouts.
    • Evaluate modes of training delivery, such as in-person or virtual to optimize training effectiveness, training costs, or environmental impacts.
    • Keep current with developments in area of expertise by reading current publications, books, articles, etc.
    • Attend meeting or seminars to obtain information for use in training programs or to inform management of training program status.
    • Monitor training costs and prepare budget reports to justify expenditures.
    • Design, schedule, and administer meetings, classes, and demonstrations to conduct training.
    • Devise programs to develop maximum potential among employees in lower-level technician positions.
    • Develop or implement training programs related to efficiency, recycling, or other issues with environmental impacts.
    • Provide support on nights and weekends to technicians that are running into technical difficulties and coach through diagnostic if needed, or discuss what issue could be.
    • Ride-a-longs for training.
    • Provide assistance and site visit if needed for customer concerns on technical inquiries after multiple warranty or callbacks.
    • Monitor and record tool Co-Op program. Maintain policies in accordance with our Program.

    What do you need?

    • Minimum 5 years HVAC training and development experience
    • High school GED or equivalent
    • EPA 608 and Lead Renovator Certification preferred.
    • Clean and neat appearance
    • Strong customer service and communication skills
    • Hard-working and motivated
