Focused Support is seeking a part-time technical writer to help create documentation within our software company. This position is part-time and is located onsite in Logan, UT. Qualified applicants must submit a cover letter, resume, and writing sample.
Key Responsibilities:
· Part-time
· 100% work from office
· Support technical writing managers with approved assignments, as needed
· Write and format documents including manuals, reports and marketing materials
· Revise previously published materials, as directed
· Adhere to and contribute to the company style guide
· Work mostly in Oxygen XML authoring tools
Required Qualifications:
· Pursuing or completed bachelor’s degree in technical communication, English, or in a technical or scientific discipline with related writing experience
· Excellent written communication skills
· Ability to understand and document technical and engineering concepts clearly and concisely, demonstrated via writing samples or portfolio
· Ability to organize and reference information logically, efficiently, and accurately
· Ability to work productively alone and in a team
· Ability and commitment to meet aggressive deadlines
· U.S. citizenship required for security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
· STEM interest or background
· Experience with XML authoring and development tools
