OVERVIEW:An international food manufacturer in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a Production Supervisor. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this role oversees facility operations, ensures Food Safety programs, and enforces plant policies through proactive cooperation with other groups and facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:Demonstrate proficiency in unit operations, process capabilities, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and food safety protocols.Maintain a safe work environment by ensuring updated work instructions are available for all positions.Ensure processes adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and other relevant documentation.Develop and implement action plans to address root causes of failures and support continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure the team possesses the necessary skills to achieve production goals efficiently.Provide comprehensive training, including equipment use, safety procedures, and hygiene practices.Implement the People Development Plan in a timely manner, ensuring team competencies align with company goals.Facilitate effective communication and seamless handoffs of key information to peers, team members, and Production Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of 5 years of experience in food manufacturing floor with supervisor experience.Experience and knowledge of FDA, USDA, GMP's, FSMA, and HACCP.Experience with Lean manufacturing or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) preferred.Proven ability to lead, manage, motivate, and develop production staff members.
