    Quality Manager

    The Quality Manager is a dynamic leader accountable for all aspects of the quality department with a focus on adherence to the Quality Management System (QMS) and associated responsibilities such as part compliance to specifications, area documentation and training, site documentation control, gauge repeatability and reproducibility, internal auditing, continuous improvement, and packaging. The quality department includes first article inspection for precision products, final inspection for all photochemical machined parts, selective part assemblies, and packaging. Strong communication with other departments such as HR, Production, Supply Chain, Engineering and EHS is crucial to manage resources, product quality requirements, scheduling workflow, and customer expectations driven by internal metrics.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Promote the Safety-First principle with employees. Participate as an active member of the Safety Committee and conduct floor walks/audits periodically to de-risk operations.
    • Visible leadership presence with 20% or more time spent on the production floor supporting the quality team and activities
    • Establish and manage key quality system metrics and develop collection, analysis, and reporting systems, which promote timely communications and corrective action
    • Strong continuous improvement and problem-solving skills
    • Lead/support investigations related to quality and/or process excursions to determine root cause and applicable countermeasures
    • Institute and manage a CAPA review board for oversite of customer complaints
    • Institute and manage a Material Review Board (MRB)
    • Monitor quality inspection and packaging activities to achieve on-time deliveries to customers. Adjust schedules and/or priorities as necessary to be successful.
    • Ensure that adequate staffing is allocated to meet the production demand schedule
    • Develop standard operating procedures (SOP's) and training documents to improve workflows and training
    • Complete and manage external/internal audit findings and opportunities for improvement.
    • Manage supplier performance and conduct supplier audits.
    • Oversee critical instruments calibrations as per schedule using Calibration Tracking Database in accordance with SOPs and ISO regulations.
    • Oversees PPAP activities and produce PPAP submittal packages
    • Participates as a member of the FMEA team

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Science or Business preferred (MBA highly desired)
    • Minimum 5 years of experience directly managing employees within a production environment with quality focused responsibilities required
    • Demonstrated success at first-line supervisory level or leading a small quality team
    • Proven experience overseeing QMS for ISO9001 and/or AS9100 certification
    • ASQ certification highly desired
    • Six Sigma Black Belt certification highly desired
    • Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
    • Refined time management skills, including the capability of working under pressure to meet deadlines

    Physical Requirements:

    • Work will be performed primarily in a manufacturing environment
    • Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes
    • May require extended periods of standing or sitting
    • Ability to lift to (50 pounds)
    • Pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting may be required
