Creates abstracts, bibliographies, and metadata to classify the information. Additionally, Technical Librarian obtains translations of literature as needed. Supports and maintains the library's technology infrastructure and information retrieval tools. Typically requires a master's degree in library science. Typically reports to a manager. JOB DESCRIPTION: Part-time librarian is responsible for the following: attend required orientation sessions; maintaining daily operations and services at the campus library; providing circulation, reference, and research services; providing bibliographic instruction to students in classes and one-on-one; answering telephones and face to face inquires that may require interpretations of routine policies, rules, and regulations; requesting maintenance of library environment and equipment as needed; other duties as assigned. Hours: weekday daytime and evening hours until 8pm.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Master of Library Science degree or closely related field
· Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
· Knowledge of web-based catalogs, GALILEO, and automated circ systems.
· Knowledge of computers, software, and word processing
· Ability to do detailed work accurately plus the ability to work independently
· Ability to learn and accurately interpret established library procedures and regulations
· Able to work through constant interruptions and exhibit a friendly, helpful attitude
· Knowledge of bibliographic areas related to college programs beneficial
