  • JOB SUMMARY

    The Lead Facilities Technician leads and coordinates the day-to-day maintenance and support of buildings, grounds, and support of facilities systems.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:\

    • Supervises a team of Facilities Technicians
    • Oversees staff that performs installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management.
    • Tracks work orders and ensures work follows established service and quality standards for completion.
    • Schedules and supervises preventative maintenance, painting, or carpentry projects.
    • Coordinates work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades.
    • Maintains a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws.
    • Remodel, retrofit, and repair interior and exterior structures made of wood, light gauge metal, drywall, or plaster, and the associated plumbing systems.
    • Perform troubleshooting and user-level preventive maintenance checks on plumbing systems and ensure higher-level preventive maintenance inspections are being conducted.
    • Provide minor repairs to plumbing systems (water, sewage, and wastewater), old piping, clogged fixtures, leaky faucets, and equipment; check old pipes for fit, soundness, and operation; and maintain available back-up assets on hand to ensure operational levels.
    • Work from blueprints, specifications, drawings, and instructions to remodel, retrofit, maintain, and repair various types of facilities and structures.
    • Inspect completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations; inspect related work by contractors.
    • Plan, install, repair, alter, and/or replace furnishings, fixtures, equipment, appliances, and finishes to include doors, flooring, ceilings, and cabinets as necessary. This includes inspection, maintenance, repair or improvement of roofing components, windows, exterior drainage.
    • Assist with office moves, office expansions, and office closures. Travel to office sites to uninstall / install various technology requirements throughout the office (network, audio systems, workstations, conferencing systems).
    • Set up workstations with corporate equipment standards for assigned office openings and relocations.
    • Responsible for improving facilities maintenance procedures, miscellaneous repairs, and respond immediately to reactive/ emergency situations using initiative, including various alarms, dealing with all fire and security systems.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Education Must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent. A degree is not required but a plus.
    • Facilities Experience Must have 5- 8 years’ relevant facilities maintenance experience required for at least 3 of the following disciplines: Electrical (including 480 volt, 3 phase), Structural (including steel frame construction), HVAC (including building management systems), Mechanical, Plumbing or PLC electronic/computer controls. (Entry level - Basic carpentry, mechanical, plumbing and electrical experience)
    • Supervisory/Lead Experience - Minimum 3 years’ supervisor or lead experience.
    • Customer Service Experience Must have 2 years’ customer service experience. A positive, confident, self-motivated attitude, strong business drive, and a keen interest in building long-term customer relationships. A superior ability to positively relate to and communicate with both internal and external customers.
    • Training/Licenses Technical training and licenses preferred in HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
    • Driver License - Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record and the ability to travel between facilities as needed.

    • Computer Skills Must have a strong working knowledge of MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
    • Communication & Language must have effective communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication (English). Fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish, is a plus.
