POSITION: Teaching Assistant for College of Education

REPORTS TO: Administrative Coordinator to the Dean

CLASSIFICATION: PART-TIME / HOURLY

WORK HOURS:  UP TO A MAXIMUM OF 10 HOURS/WEEK, MONDAY-FRIDAY, 8:00AM-4:00PM

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

 Required to be currently enrollment at Southeastern University in one of the
degrees within the undergraduate program
 College of Education majors preferred but not required

POSITION SUMMARY:

The teaching assistant would be responsible for assisting the Chair,
a specific professor, and/or the Administrative Coordinator with administrative tasks as
well as acting as a liaison for the college.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Understanding of academic programs, policies and systems
 Strong people skills
 Strong communication skills both written and verbal
 Strong basic software skills including MS Word, Excel and Google Suite
 Strong Christian character demonstrated in all aspects of life

DUTIES AND OTHER JOB-RELATED ACTIVITIES:

 Up to a maximum of 10 hours per week (Monday – Friday 8am-4:00pm)
 Professional appearance and demeanor
 Excellent knowledge of and abilities to use APA writing style
 Ability to utilize MyFire
 Ability to multi-task and stay organized
 Ability to work collaboratively  
 Assist with grading by reviewing rubrics
 Assist with clerical duties as needed: printing large jobs, scanning, and copying
 Provide support to faculty members: making phone calls, recording data, sending
emails, on campus errands
 Event planning, participation, set up and teardown for events as needed
 Other relevant duties as assigned
