Teacher Kindergarten prepares lessons and instructs students in an assigned elementary school's kindergarten. Develops and implements activities to meet the academic, developmental, and social needs of children in kindergarten classroom setting. Being a Teacher Kindergarten monitors and guides classroom behavior. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. Additionally, Teacher Kindergarten assesses and documents students' progress. Participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require state-specific teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. Lead Teacher
We are currently looking for a friendly and competent lead teacher to join our team. If you are a compassionate and self-motivated individual with a specific interest in education, we urge you to apply! In this position, you will be responsible to plan and implement all classroom activities, provide leadership to the assistant teacher, and be responsible for your classroom and students at all times.
The successful candidate must enjoy working with children and be devoted to building a nurturing and safe learning environment. To excel in this role, you must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as in-depth knowledge of classroom activities and teaching methods.
Teacher Assistant Responsibilities:
· Be punctual to work each day: arriving at 7:00 am and leaving no earlier than 3:00 pm.
· Display positivity and encourage students throughout their daily activities.
· Create weekly lesson plans with creative center activities, trays, and reading materials all centered around a Christian worldview.
· Collaborate with the Head of School to provide a broad range of teaching strategies and methodologies to meet the learning needs of all students.
· Ensure the classroom environment is safe and clean. Lead teachers are responsible for each child’s safety at all times.
· Prepare all materials and classroom equipment prior to the lesson.
· Actively help students with each activity.
· Practice effective and age-appropriate classroom management strategies by following the behavior management plan.
· Model desired student behaviors and vocalize instruction and correction with gentleness and kindness.
· Mentoring teacher assistant in behavior management, classroom activities, and safety.
· Document student progress so the lead teacher can keep parents informed.
· Report any incidents (accident, behavior, potty, etc.) the to the Head of School.
· Comply with state, school, and class rules and regulations.
· Attend all training classes, parent conferences, and faculty meetings.
Teacher Assistant Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in education or relevant field is preferred.
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a teaching assistant or similar role.
· Solid understanding of classroom activities and teaching best practices.
· Must have a compassionate and positive attitude.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Outstanding interpersonal and presentation abilities.
