Teacher Kindergarten jobs in Michigan

Teacher wanted beginning August 2024 to plan and implement developmentally appropriate, individualized curriculum for small, specialized preschool classroom of 3-4 year-old children. Our nurturing and creative small classrooms (max. 8 children per classroom) provide continuity of each child's educational/developmental plan until the child is ready to return to a regular school or classroom setting. Each child's emotional, physical, and developmental challenges are addressed by our team of teachers and therapists.
Parents and the school's professional team work together to provide a comprehensive understanding of the child's development. Activities are provided that meet each individual child's needs and stimulate learning in all developmental areas.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Implement curriculum to meet the individual and group needs of children and families enrolled in the program.
• Meet with Staff on a weekly basis to plan curriculum – including social, emotional, cognitive, physical, language and creative development of all children.
• Maintain safe and secure classroom environment – with an awareness of developmentally appropriate standards and an eye to the general organization of the space and materials.
• Create and implement activities and learning environment.
• Maintain nurturing, professional and respectful approach to children and adults at school.
• Attend weekly clinical staff meetings and parent/teacher conferences.
• Write developmental reports each year.
• Attend Monthly Parent Workshops.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in education, special education, or early childhood education required.
• Experience in teaching in an early childhood setting preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact successfully with individuals of varied backgrounds and experiences.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to function independently in a highly professional manner.
