Being a Teacher High School evaluates and monitors student's performance. Assesses and documents students' progress. Additionally, Teacher High School participates in development and implementation of Individual Education Plans for specific students. Resolves classroom issues and conflicts. May participate in implementing special programs for students. May supervise teaching assistants. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require state-specific teaching license. Typically requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically reports to a principal. The Teacher High School occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. - Participate in faculty meetings, professional development workshops, and other school-related activities.
- Serve as a mentor to students, offering guidance and support outside of the classroom.
- Contribute to the overall school community by participating in extracurricular activities, such as sports coaching or involvement in library services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Valid teaching certification/license for high school level.
- Proven experience in lesson planning, instructional delivery, and classroom management.
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for supporting diverse learners.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in using learning technologies and educational software.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to calculate grades and assess student performance effectively.
- Experience in academic advising or mentoring is a plus.
