Jackson Hole Classical Academy seeks an Elementary School Teacher.

The ideal candidate is an experienced teacher with knowledge of and passion for classical pedagogy. Elementary teachers cover a core liberal arts curriculum in language arts, math, history, and science, and are supported by “specials” teachers in art, music, Latin, PE, and chess. In addition to teaching content, our teachers attend to the formation of good habits in our students.

A successful elementary candidate will have the following prerequisite skills, credentials, and expertise:

• Experience teaching elementary students, preferably in a classical school.
• Knowledge of the methods and goals of classical education.
• Knowledge of Spalding Phonics (preferred).
• Knowledge with Singapore Math (preferred).
• Desire to teach character in addition to content, with an emphasis on our lower school habits of attention, obedience, respect, and responsibility.
• Excellent classroom management skills.

Familiarity with Charlotte Mason’s approach to habit formation is preferred but not required.
