Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Talent Management Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.   • New Ecology, Inc. (NEI) seeks a full-time Senior HR Specialist, Talent Acquisition and Management. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior HR Specialist will be responsible for the life cycle of a New Ecology employee—beginning with recruiting, sourcing and hiring; continuing with management of the annual review cycle; and including opportunities for staff professional development and learning. The Senior HR Specialist will have an opportunity to lead, build, and strengthen these functions while working collaboratively with the HR and Operations team to execute them across a growing multi-state organization.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    New Ecology’s Human Resources team is comprised of the COO and two Senior HR Specialists. Working across complementary areas, the team is collaborative while emphasizing leadership over key areas of the HR function. During this important phase in New Ecology’s growth, the Senior HR Specialist, Talent Acquisition and Management will oversee a range of responsibilities, including:

    • Recruitment (est. 50-65%)
      • Recruit full-time, part-time, temporary, contractual, and intern personnel across a range of administrative, project management, technical functions and geographies.
      • Manage full life cycle recruitment (post, source, prescreen, schedule, background, references, offer, onboarding, etc.) with a concerted emphasis on running and equitable and inclusive recruitment process.
      • Develop appropriate marketing strategies for external recruitment, including creative partnerships and presence at key source organizations.
      • Define roles and responsibilities of hiring team and refine internal process and materials for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring processes, engaging stakeholders across organizational management, HR team, hiring managers, and peer / staff collaborators.
      • Maintain effective relationships within the organization and the hiring community to have influence and impact the recruiting process and hiring.
      • Leveraging the HRIS and ATS systems, develop, track, and regularly report against metrics for success, measuring outcomes (e.g., minimize overall time-to-start and cost-per-hire)
    • Professional Development and Internal Learning (est. 25-35%)
      • Manage the maintenance and execution of the performance management system, including updating current job descriptions, refining standards of performance and performance evaluation instruments, overseeing internal transfers/promotions/changes in supervisor, and evolving approaches to annual performance management as the organization grows.
      • Support supervisors in developing professional development feedback and advice to their direct reports, ensuring timely completion of annual reviews and strong, constructive setting of performance goals and development opportunities for staff at all levels, as well as supporting the creation of constructive performance improvement tools.
      • Develop and assist in delivery of internal trainings, mentorship programs and diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives (design and/or direct delivery).
      • Ensure that organization-wide talent management and performance management initiatives are focused and aligned on improving operational efficiencies, mission alignment and impact, and employee experience.
    • HR Team Collaboration and Organizational Engagement (est. 10%)
      • Participate in weekly HR team meetings and continuous collaboration with HR team members to support other areas of team function, contributing to areas of HR policy and employee relations outside of recruiting and professional development as requested.
      • Represent New Ecology management and HR function in internal venues e.g. monthly staff meeting, supervisor quarterly meetings to ensure that internal stakeholders are fully informed and engaged in key people management responsibilities and receive appropriate guidance.
      • Contribute to planning and execution of organization-wide efforts (e.g., employee experience surveys, annual employee retreat, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, others as needed).
      • Participate in learning opportunities offered by New Ecology divisions (e.g., technical trainings, site visits) to learn about the work and inform how to best support related talent acquisition and management efforts.
