Talent Management Specialist develops, implements, and administers programs that evaluate, measure, and improve employee performance. Conducts assessment activities to evaluate and identify the current and emerging skills, competencies, and behaviors required to achieve desired organizational results and prepare for future needs. Being a Talent Management Specialist designs performance management strategies and processes that measure outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and align teams to organizational goals. Identifies the types of training and development and resources needed to achieve workforce performance improvements. Additionally, Talent Management Specialist encourages a culture of objective setting and result measurement aligned to pay and rewards using tools, training, and communication. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Talent Management Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.   • Position Summary:
    Provide comprehensive services that support student retention and success in the ADT initiative and assist with initial implementation as needed. Facilitate transition to college-level coursework. Work with students enrolled in or exploring options through Transitional Studies including Basic Education for adults and other Career Pathway Programs. The Navigator is the primary point of contact for guiding individuals through the processes and services at Coahoma Community College. This position reports to the Executive Director of Workforce Development.

    Essential Functions:
    • Promote student access, retention, success, and diversity in support of the mission, vision and core values of the College.
    • Advise prospective and enrolled students regarding GED program, Workforce, and Career & Technical and Health Sciences program offerings, admission procedures, program expectations, and degree and transfer requirements.
    • Assist students with assessment scores and placement, basic financial aid information and other funding options.
    • Assist students in clarifying educational, career, and life goals.
    • Assist students to develop, monitor, and revise individualized educational plans.
    • Design, promote and deliver group advising sessions and workshops.
    • Act as a liaison to faculty to support student academic success and to other campus and community-oriented support services to assist students in finding services for which they are eligible.
    • Provide retention and follow-up services to students to ensure student compliance and student success. 
    • Develop and maintain student records and reports as required by the college and other agencies.
    • Collect, prepare, and report data via college and agency reporting systems. 
    • Provide excellent customer service to students, potential students, campus partners and community partners.
    • Create correspondence and develop marketing and other materials such as brochures, orientation packet, frequently asked questions, and portal or website information about the programs; communicate with the public, outside agencies, and other administrative liaisons as needed.
    • Represent the college at meetings and events as needed both internal and external.
    • Perform related duties as assigned. 

    Qualifications:
    Minimum:
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
    • Two years of experience working in adult education, secondary or higher education, workforce development, social or human services, or a non-profit organization.
    • Experience working with diverse populations. 
    • Experience and intermediate skills with Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and website or desktop publishing software.

    Preferred:
    • Experience teaching Basic Education to Adults.
    • Experience with educational or career advising for adult learners.
    • Experience working with student services and/or human services.
    • Experience working in a community college setting.
    • Familiarity with the course and student management system software.
    • Demonstrated experience with customer service, office procedures, and marketing.
    • Extensive knowledge of local community resources and services. 

    Conditions of Employment:
    • Successful completion of a criminal history background check.
    • Current, valid, unrestricted driver’s license.

    • Commitment to serving the needs of historically underserved populations including but not limited to low-income populations, limited English speakers, and those experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, substance abuse and other barriers to education and employment. 
    • Highly professional, ethical, and respectful of confidential data and individuals’ circumstances. 
    • Ability and willingness to work an alternate schedule as needs demand
