Systems Engineering UNIX/NT Director jobs in Nebraska
Systems Engineering UNIX/NT Director directs the UNIX/NT systems engineering function. May also be responsible for OS/390 function and staff. Being a Systems Engineering UNIX/NT Director develops and oversees policies and practices for UNIX/NT systems engineering. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Systems Engineering UNIX/NT Director typically reports to a top management. The Systems Engineering UNIX/NT Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Systems Engineering UNIX/NT Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Primary Duty
The primary duty of this position is to develop, test, and deploy applications, firmware and device drivers using C, C , and/or Python as part of a larger team responsible for the development of embedded systems.
Essential Functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Write applications, firmware, and device drivers for operation in the Linux operating system
- Develop, debug, package, and deploy systems software targeting embedded devices
- Produce functional proof-of-concept prototypes
- Research new embedded systems, hardware, and software technology
- Produce detailed project documentation and technical communications
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may serve as a coach or mentor for other positions in the department.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are expected to coincide with the Company’s normal business hours, Monday-Friday.
