    • You will determine best source to procure from to meet customer requirements based on type of requirement, urgency, and knowledge of item or service.
    • You will contact vendors to obtain or negotiate prices, delivery, discount terms, transportation, or other order provisions.
    • You will review stock levels to adjust to changing customer requirements and projected depletions.
    • You will respond to customer inquiries regarding inquiries on the status of requisitions, delivery of material, and other supply related questions.

    • Must be able to successfully complete the following training courses within prescribed timeframe: Forklift Training, OSHA Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response, and Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
    • Employee may be assigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within the NAVFAC-serviced geographic area.

    Qualifications

    Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Using automated systems for preparation and submission of purchase requirements; 2) Reviewing and screening material and purchase requests for accuracy, funds approval, special requirements, and item description; 3) Tracking and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the status of all requisitions and purchases.

    This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

    Physical Demands

    Moderate physical exertion such as recurring walking, standing, bending, lifting, and moving items up to 40 pounds, unassisted, using proper lifting techniques in the warehouse will be required. Heavier items are moved using material handling equipment or assistance from other employees.

    Work Environment

    Incumbent will work in covered and open storage areas when reviewing storage and warehousing operations. Employee may be exposed to dust, dirt, grease, solvents and high noise areas while working in a mechanized work area, or chemical fumes while working in a hazardous materials area. Employee may be required to wear safety shoes and eyewear and other personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, masks, and hearing protection.

    This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
