Genuen is seeking an Engineering Manager for their Government Systems group to oversee all aspects of the electronics systems development engineering team. Genuen is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company based in Lenexa, KS with offices in New Mexico, Michigan, and Ohio. This position is based on-site in Albuquerque, NM. Reporting directly to the Engineering Director, Electronics Systems, the Engineering Manager, Government Systems Group is responsible for direct management and supervision of a team of systems and electrical development engineers, including resource planning, mentoring, and executing strategic systems initiatives as determined by the company’s leadership team. In a technical capacity, this position is responsible for working with the project team to define system requirements that enable mission function and performance; developing system conceptual designs to meet those requirements; and defining the necessary subsystems, components, and interfaces to realize the tests and test systems that meet the customer’s needs. • Direct oversight and management of both systems and electrical engineers.
• Mentor new team members through training required for team role.
• Coordinate engineering resource planning across the team.
• Manage Team Utilization to optimize efficiency and set individual goals for each team member.
• Participate in the creation and execution of the company’s overall project development process, best practices, and quality control.
• Work as Project Lead on projects – the primary technical contact for the client as well as the leader of a multidiscipline project team.
• Ensure projects use appropriate hardware/software/system architectures.
• Provide advice on project costs, design concepts and design changes.
• Prepare and install test solutions in accordance with project specifications and standards.
• Prepare deliverables such as planning documents, requirements documents, design documents, review documents, test strategy, test scripts, and reports.
• Complete tasks within originally estimated time frames or communicates revised timelines to complete projects. Position Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (Electrical Engineering preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, manage, and mentor personnel.
• 10 years of systems engineering experience.
• 5 years leading projects and architecting systems. • Successful history of owning and executing task responsibility.
• Excellent technical communication skills.
• Occasional travel.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• The ability and willingness to obtain a government security clearance is required.
