    Description

    Principal Duty

    The Systems Integration Manager in large will ensure projects are delivered achieving the committed functionality, performance and availability of the solution. This role works to strengthen customer satisfaction and TGW’s position as a Material Handing Equipment Integrator.

    The Systems Integration Manager is involved in a project from the back end of the pre-sales process throughout the realization process until final acceptance of the solution to the client. They design and drive to completion all aspects of a solution related to functionality or performance. This includes providing feedback to the TGW Solutions Design team based on gaps between design assumptions and reality and defining success for the Mechanical, Controls, SW suppliers (internal/external), then checking, and ensuring that those suppliers have delivered.

    This is a client-facing role that requires a strong technical understanding of the solution, warehousing operations and the ability to manage the client and their expectations. Forming strong working relationships with the core engineering teams and the client are essential.

    A SIM level III applies skills developed with hands-on experience to achieve the principal duty and independently perform the full range of job responsibilities as outlined.

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    Pre-Sales (start SG3 detail design phase)

    1. Consult, challenge and validate the solution can be delivered as proposed
      • Design assumptions
      • System requirements & specifications
      • Material Flow Diagram and Performance Line Diagram
      • Functional scope
      • Acceptance criteria
      • Simulation model setup, strategies and results
    2. Audit the ROR (Risk and Opportunity Register) to safeguard against unnecessary risks

    Detail Engineering

    1. Guide and synchronize engineering across the core teams, integrating the design assumptions, contractual commitments, layout, system and operations requirements, simulation strategies, software and controls, mechanical equipment, and third party products to align solution intent through to final acceptance
      • Integrate knowledge from simulation and coordinate simulation updates as required
      • Attend and facilitate internal and customer discussions
      • Audit functional and interface specifications
      • Audit exception scenarios and recovery expectations (systematic and operational)
      • Verify feasibility of change requests
      • Work to resolve open points and risk items
    2. Prepare and maintain documentation from sales hand-over through to final acceptance:
      • Test data, specifications, PLD, simulation model and report, change requests
    3. Define tests scenarios and audit test plan and results to prove system is ready for hand-over:
      • Simulation
      • Internal Emulation
      • Functional Acceptance Testing
      • System Throughput Testing
      • Site Acceptance Testing
      • Exceptions scenarios
    4. Define system data and KPIs to track in order to measure system behavior
      • Measuring points
      • System reports and dashboards

    Commissioning and Ramp-Up

    1. Ensure readiness for customer take over
    2. Manage customer expectations
    3. Monitor and analyze system data and KPIs to align design assumptions to reality
    4. Contribute to issue management and resolution

    Requirements Profile

    1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering - Minimum 7 years of material handling systems experience
    2. Advanced abilities in MS applications Excel, PowerPivot, Access, Word, Visio and PowerPoint
    3. Basic knowledge in AutoCAD
    4. Advanced ability to collect, maintain, analyze and present data and recommendations
      • Experience with Python preferred
    5. Experience using simulation as a validation tool
      • Experience interacting with AutoMod and Siemens Plant Simulation preferred
    6. Ability to evaluate customer business processes with in-depth knowledge of automated distribution centers from the mechatronic elements up to the high level software
    7. Expert in at least one area of TGW’s standards in solution design, mechatronic design, controls and software integration. Advances skills in all areas.
    8. Analytical, strategic, solutions-oriented mindset
    9. Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for decisions and carry out actions
    10. Willingness to mentor and train team members
    11. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Calm and confident to steer customers around complex and technical ideas.
    12. Able to work in an multi-disciplinary and intercultural experts network
    13. Uphold and promote TGW core values
    14. Willingness to travel domestically (less than 20%) and internationally (occasionally)
