Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager oversees the design of enablement plans and configuration specifications and installation operations to implement integrated hardware and software systems and products purchased by customers. Develops standard processes and methodologies to prototype and test proposed solutions for feasibility, reliability, and quality. Being an Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager directs the development of program and system specifications to meet customers' technical requirements and guide the enablement, configuration, or coding of products and solutions. Ensures the delivery of technical information, documentation, requirements, and cost estimates to sales teams to use in proposals, quotes, and statements of work meet sales cycle and project timeline requirements. Additionally, Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Finance Systems Manager (Administrator)

  • Serve as CTtransit’s frontline leader in financial applications/systems management, analysis tracking, and reporting to successfully deliver established goals and performance expectations set forth by the Director of Finance.

    1. Proactively analyze, plan, document and drive the adoption/implementation of software modifications or upgrades including coordinating and troubleshooting with system vendors.
    2. Day to Day administration of financial applications inclusive of managing access for relevant systems, troubleshooting and custom reporting from said software (SQL, Access, and Visual Basic), providing training, and instruction on the technical aspects of department systems, and assisting in maintaining the related databases. 
    3. Lead the technical implementation of large-sized projects which improve our ability to make better data driven insight. Drive process improvement and productivity s for all areas of Finance
    4. Build regular and ad hoc reports in support of the Finance team during the month-end process.  Assists in monitoring overall financial performance against operations, administration, safety, reliability, and customer service goals. Evaluates policies, procedures, and work processes to ensure safe, reliable, customer-focused, and cost-effective service.
    5. Understanding of core finance business principles to recommend improvements to finance processes with the ability to translate and document recommendations into technical requirements.
    6. Support Senior Financial Management team by conducting research studies and collecting data for managerial staff. Prepares reports, presentations, and correspondence as assigned.
    7. Performing other accounting or administrative functions as assigned by the Director of Finance in such areas as special project reporting, revenue analysis inclusive of maintaining the systems integral to Fare collection, time and attendance programs/ software, or databases as assigned.
    8. Reviews and adheres to policy and procedures with the ability to suggest and implement process improvements.
    9. Experience supporting multiple teams in an office environment, including creating memos for multi-disciplinary groups and/or tracking/maintaining multi-dimensional budgets.
    10. Assists in managing problems and emergencies involving any operations department or division on a 24/7 basis.
    11. Attends in-service training, seminars or other opportunities for professional development as made available by the Agency.  Provides training for Agency personnel as required.   Actively participates in staff meetings, trainings, etc.
    12. Has thorough working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures, and collective bargaining agreements.
    13. Assists in Managing the first step of employee discipline.
    14. Assists the Director of Finance and other departmental Managers with interview panels and departmental hiring decisions.
    15. Will participate in the interview process, and the selection process for new positions.
    16. Serves as a backup to the Director of Finance or other Departmental Managers when needed.
    17. Assists other departments and divisions as needed.
    18. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
    1. Minimum possession of a bachelor's degree with major course work in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Analytics or Information Technology or a closely related field and five (5) years of relevant work experience is required.
    2. An equivalent combination of education and highly relative work experience on a year for year basis may be substituted for the 4-year degree requirement.
    3. Experience working in Financial Analysis, Financial Reporting or Business Analytics is required with a minimum of two (2) years of experience at the senior accountant level. 
    4. Experience working in a union environment is preferred.
    5. This position requires the ability to make decisions requiring independent judgment including the setting of priorities for performing work, excellent communication skills (especially verbal), interpersonal skills, tact, and diplomacy.
    6. Ability to translate business objectives into technical requirements; organize and work on multiple projects simultaneously; define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions; prepare findings in reports, correspondence, policies, procedures, and other required documentation.
    7. Ability to learn procedures that require a high degree of responsibility, accuracy, timeliness, and precision with advanced knowledge of MS Office 365 suite. In addition, the ability to quickly learn, manage and train others on highly customized 3rd party and internal software programs, Power BI, SQL and Microsoft Visual Basic is required.
    8. The employee must be able to undergo a satisfactory security and credit check review.
    9. Ability to prioritize projects and to work both independently and in a team environment.
    10. A valid drivers’ license is required. Individual may be required to travel in the course of their daily work.
    11. Must be able to handle confidential information, manage multiple priorities and have excellent communication skills (especially verbal), interpersonal skills, professionalism, discretion, and diplomacy to work effectively with the public, outside agencies, private vendors, and other employees at all levels throughout CTtransit. 
    12. Flexible availability including nights and weekends as needed to support a 3-shift 24/7/365 operation.
