Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager oversees the design of enablement plans and configuration specifications and installation operations to implement integrated hardware and software systems and products purchased by customers. Develops standard processes and methodologies to prototype and test proposed solutions for feasibility, reliability, and quality. Being an Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager directs the development of program and system specifications to meet customers' technical requirements and guide the enablement, configuration, or coding of products and solutions. Ensures the delivery of technical information, documentation, requirements, and cost estimates to sales teams to use in proposals, quotes, and statements of work meet sales cycle and project timeline requirements. Additionally, Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Lighthouse Institute, a division of Chestnut Health Systems, is seeking a full-time Assistant Projects Manager for our Eugene, OR facility.

    Responsibilities

    • Project Management: Work collaboratively on the day-to-day management of research projects, including the design, development, and implementation of protocols or project components, and overseeing all related procedures and workflows.  Assist in the identification and design of measurement tools.  Utilize state of the art project management and evaluation techniques as needed (e.g., GANTT charts, logic models, etc.).
    • Oversight of Multi-Site Studies: Assist with monitoring and enforcing research protocol and intervention fidelity in single or multi-site studies.  Develop and train new and existing grantees as needed, sites or staff on data collections instruments, data collection and participant tracking techniques, model fidelity, quality assurance, and other research protocols and processes.  Ensure procedures follow federal, state or local grant, contract or project requirements.
    • Reporting: Work collaboratively with the Research Project Manager to develop monitoring procedures to assess project success in meeting benchmarks, as indicated by federal, state, or local grant, contract or project requirements.  Assist in writing technical reports describing progress toward achievement of goals, identify problem areas and successes, and make recommendations for changes.  Comply with reporting requirements of funding sources. Provide verbal and written reports to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise research staff and consultants and ensure that the team operates efficiently, up to our quality of standards, and is responsive to our customers and collaborators.  Train all personnel in the use of all relevant interventions, processes, and outcome measures.
    • Assist with Proposals and Dissemination: Co-write or write grant and project proposals and project management proposals.  Develop training guides and author manuals for end users regarding project implementation and/or evaluation measures (e.g., written or videotaped instructions).  Conduct literature reviews, complete professional presentations, and contribute to peer reviewed manuscript development.
    • Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to Chestnut’s behavioral standards for customer service.
    • Maintain and protect confidentiality of all organizational information gained while performing job responsibilities including, but not limited to, financial and client information.
    • Travel and other duties consistent with qualifications and training.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a social science discipline, public health or equivalent with demonstrated experience in management of research-related projects; master’s degree preferred; OR any combination of education and experience that meets the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Supervisory experience in the research field preferred.
    • Proven writing skills.  Relevant experience organizing and supervising complex processes and procedures, following human subjects protections.
    • Willingness to work varying shifts and extra hours to meet key project deadlines.
    • Willingness to travel to client sites.
    • Satisfactory completion of Chestnut's background checking process.
