Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager oversees the design of enablement plans and configuration specifications and installation operations to implement integrated hardware and software systems and products purchased by customers. Develops standard processes and methodologies to prototype and test proposed solutions for feasibility, reliability, and quality. Being an Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager directs the development of program and system specifications to meet customers' technical requirements and guide the enablement, configuration, or coding of products and solutions. Ensures the delivery of technical information, documentation, requirements, and cost estimates to sales teams to use in proposals, quotes, and statements of work meet sales cycle and project timeline requirements. Additionally, Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Systems Consultant/Engineering Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief Information Officer  

    FLSA STATUS: Exempt 

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    1. Proven work experience as an IT      manager or relevant experience.
    2. Excellent knowledge of technical      management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems.
    3. Expertise in data governance.
    4. Experience with computer networks,      network administration and network installation.
    5. Ability to provide consulting/training/education      services such as data management and staff training/orientation for      standard systems.
    6. Experience with IT vendors,      contracts and outsourcing.
    7. Ability to analyze situations,      evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions within standards (where      applicable).
    8. Expertise in interpreting      guidelines and analyzing information to adapt or modify technical processes      in response to changing circumstances.
    9. Ability to work independently and      exercise independent judgment. 
    10. Ability to manage personnel and act      as a resource to others to solve problems.
    11. Professional certifications as      appropriate. 
    12. Must demonstrate a deep commitment      to providing exceptional customer service

    Responsibilities:

    1. Manage information technology, computer      and telephone systems.
    2. Plan, organize, control, and evaluate      IT and electronic data operations.
    3. Design, develop, implement, and      coordinate systems, policies, and procedures.
    4. Ensure security of data, network      access and backup systems.
    5. Act in alignment with user needs      and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy.
    6. Manage IT staff by recruiting, training,      and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising      performance.
    7. Identify problematic areas and      implement strategic solutions in time.
    8. Audit systems and assess their      outcomes.
    9. Preserve assets, information      security and control structures.
    10. Assist CIO with developing a budget;      purchase equipment, complete projects, negotiate and contract with vendors      and ensure cost effectiveness.
    11. Responsible for local inventory      maintenance and software license management.
    12. Maintain systems documentation.
    13. Consistently demonstrate      professional, positive, and approachable attitude and demeanor and      discretion. 
    14. Demonstrate sensitivity in handling      confidential information.
    15. As appropriate, provide escalated      on-site support of hardware, software and network connectivity issues.
    16. Act as the primary point of      communication between IT and operating, business and functional units.
    17. Assist with meeting quality      measures by completing tasks related to VFHC initiatives.
    18. Perform other duties as assigned.

    Physical Requirements:


    1. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

    2. Prolonged sitting, bending, stooping, walking and standing.

    3. Correctable vision and hearing.

    4. Must be able to read, write and speak clearly.

    5. Manual dexterity.
