    We invite you to apply to join our team as a full-time (40 hours per week), exempt IT Security Network Analyst with the IT Department. This position will be responsible for the daily operations of the in-place security solutions including identifying, investigating and resolving security breaches.  Assist in the implementation of new security solutions, participation in the creation and or maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures as well as conducting vulnerability audits and assessments.

    Projected Hiring Range: $58,232.00 - $90,248.00 per year. Starting salary depending on experience. Compensation is determined based on qualifications.


    Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (40 hours per week); on-call and rotating weekends are required depending on the operational needs of the County/Department. 



    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Monitors server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs, and network traffic for unusual or suspicious activity. Interprets activity and make recommendations for resolution.
    • Deploys, manages and maintains all security systems and their corresponding or associated software, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, cryptography systems, and anti-virus software.
    • Assists the Network Engineer in network related duties including the installation and maintenance of core and secondary network switches at the direction of the Network Engineer.
    • Designs, implements, and reports on security system and end user activity audits.
    • Participates in the planning and design of enterprise security architecture, under the direction of the CISO, where appropriate.
    • Participates in the design and execution of vulnerability assessments, penetration tests and security audits.
    • Provides on-call support for end users for all in-place security solutions and operates a County vehicle in order to drive to County offices to install hardware.
    • Administers and maintains end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
    • Manages and ensures the security of databases and data transferred both internally and externally.
    • Maintains up-to-date detailed knowledge of the IT security industry including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
    • Performs related work as assigned.

    Experience and Education:

    • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline.
    • Two (2) years of computer network, security or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

     

    Certifications and Licenses:

    • Valid driver’s license required.
    • Network Plus certification or Professional certifications like GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst (GCIA), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) or GIAC Certified Forensic Examiner/ GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFE/GCFA) preferred.
    • CCNA or other network administration related certifications preferred.

    Physical Demands:

    Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

    • Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.
