    The Engineering Release Systems Administrator is responsible for the management and release of Engineering Change Notices (ECN). The role provides analysis and assessment of current effectiveness of the engineering release process for changes and strives to improve productivity and efficiency across user groups. The position assists in providing support and training with respect to the current engineering PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system for change and release processes to all users as required. The position provides testing/validation of enhancements/changes to the Engineering Change Proces of the PLM system and monitors compliance and provide reports supporting the identification of training needs to the product line engineering managers.

    This position reports to the Director Global Engineering Systems.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for reviewing and processing ECN (Engineering Change Notices) reviews and approving that the data is suitable to send to the ERP systems in support of Product Data Management/Product Lifecycle Management (PDM/PLM). Key systems are Creo Parametric, Windchill PDMLink, Windchill CreoView, IsoDraw and AutoCAD.
    • Works closely with engineering and project teams to plan and implement data release requirements.
    • Develops best practices, defines standards for data management including system and process documentation and adheres to and helps improve support-related procedures.
    • Implements change process upgrades and coordinates training programs for the users of PDM/PLM system.
    • Provides a high-level of customer service to consistently process the engineering change notices.
    • Maintains and improves technical knowledge in all aspects of process support.
    • Logically and efficiently analyzes, tests, and diagnoses problems and reports as necessary.
    • Works as part of a team to share skill sets, lessons and technical knowledge to maintain a well-rounded technical support team.
    • Strives to become an expert in the tools used by our Engineering community for changing and releasing product data.
    • Takes ownership of process improvements and drive to successful implementation.
    • Contributes to technical support documentation.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Minimal Qualifications:
    • Associate degree or equivalent experience.
    • 3 years of experience in technical support, help desk, or desktop support in a Windows environment.
    • 2 years of experience in supporting engineering teams working in mechanical or electrical product design.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Associate degree in computer science, Software Development, Technical Support or equivalent experience.
    • 2 years of experience with WindChill, TeamCenter or Enovia.
    • 2 years of experience specifically with engineering change/release processes and terms related to data management in a PDM/PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system.
    • 1 years of experience with delivering technical training and presentations.
    • 1 years of working interdepartmentally supporting technical groups across an organization.
    • Demonstrates a strong working knowledge of PDM/PLM systems and business administration and application support.
    • Able to work effectively with both staff and leadership of the organization.
    • Able to work successfully with cross-functional teams.
    • Able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
    • Strict attention to detail.

    Level of Independence:
    • Acts independently under the direction of the Engineering Supervisor or Manager.

    Physical demands:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
