    A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A JUNIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR:

    This position is responsible for supporting the Associate System Administrator with technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users and serve as a point of escalation for complex issues that cannot be resolved by level 1 or 2 technicians. The Junior System Administrator will be responsible for independently driving and completing crucial IT projects that arise such as implementing a new system, application, or hardware. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Assist with managing IT system infrastructure, day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all client/servers/storage/network devices, etc..
    • Provides advanced support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems
    • Monitor system performance and take proactive measures to ensure optimal performance and availability.
    • Provides Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, resolution, and documentation of problems
    • Collaborate with team members to implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
    • Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
    • Assists with the configuration and deployment of hardware for a variety of uses including user workstations, mobile devices, and network equipment
    • Works with the VNAHSR IT team to assist complex IT projects such as migrating to a new EHR, implementing a new phone system, or transitioning to a new service. Lead smaller initiatives and projects as assigned.
    • Customer support to 300 users, spread across 4 different offices in Vermont
    • Cultivates new relationships and works collaboratively with the many vendors and service providers the VNAHSR uses; both in a troubleshooting scenario and project management
    • Supports and assists Help Desk Technicians with system administration to include account creation, user set up, folder access, passwords and disabling access.
    • Performs all aspects of Hardware and Software configuration, installation, maintenance, deployment and troubleshooting.
    • Serve as the second point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance via the Help Desk, Phone, or otherwise.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
    • 2-3 years' experience in an IT support or administrative capacity. 2 years IT project management
