    Job Purpose: The System Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of the IT infrastructure systems. Provides service to the credit union by responding promptly to employee support needs. Provides application, hardware, and software installation and support.

    Essential Job Results:

    JOB SPECIFIC RESULTS

    1. Infrastructure System Administration Duties:
      1. Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all infrastructure resources. Reviews system and application logs and verifies completion of scheduled jobs such as backups and file movement processes.
      2. Performs maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
      3. Applies operation system updates, patches, and configuration changes.
      4. Performs network and server maintenance, security, and software updates.
      5. Researches and recommends IT hardware, software, and solutions.
      6. Accurately sets up new user accounts on various IT systems and ensures that the proper permissions are assigned in accordance with procedure.
      7. Accurately terminate user accounts on various IT systems in accordance with procedure.
      8. Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
      9. Manage and perform preventive maintenance tasks on end-user equipment, IT-managed banking-specific equipment, and training laptops.
      10. Installation and support of IT-managed banking-specific equipment such as card production printers, signature pads, ID scanners, and cash recyclers.
    2. Help Desk and End User Support Duties:
      1. Lead desktop and helpdesk support efforts, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
      2. Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
      3. Works with the end user to properly document the support request and to classify correctly within the case management system.
      4. Successfully resolve issues by determining the best solution based on the issue, details provided by end users, and UKFCU Policy and Procedure.
      5. Provides general support for technology or data processing issues related to the audio response system, the automated telephone attendant, imaging, fax technology, and others.
      6. Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel or IT Management.
    3. Provide accurate information on IT products or services.
    4. Maintains accurate records by documenting system changes, revisions, and problem resolutions. This activity may include but is not limited to:
      1. Recording issues, problems, and their resolution in the help desk ticketing system in addition to any active knowledge base.
      2. Follow-up and update end user status and information.
      3. Pass on any feedback or suggestions by end users to the appropriate internal teams.
      4. Identify and suggest possible improvements to procedures.
    5. On-call and after maintenance hours (nights and weekends) are required on a rotating/as needed basis.

    GENERAL STAFF RESULTS

    1. Maintains member and employee confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential and sharing on a business-related as-needed basis only.
    2. Engages in problem resolution by clarifying the member’s and/or employee’s complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution; and keeping the supervisor informed of problems and solutions.
    3. Complies with UKFCU policies and procedures by enforcing and adhering to internal UKFCU procedures and board-established policies.
    4. Complies with federal, state, and local regulations and legal requirements by enforcing and adhering to requirements.
    5. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by maintaining an awareness of competitors’ rates and terms, industry trends and technology; attending staff meetings; identifying opportunities to attend seminars that enhance skills and maintain knowledge of new products that could assist in improving operational effectiveness; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; and participating in professional societies.
    6. Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing corporate and individual goals and other related results as needed.

    Qualifications


    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Three to five years of similar or related experience, including diagnostic and maintenance with PC hardware, software applications, local area networks, and file processing.
    • Associates Degree or Technical equivalent.
    • Knowledge of networking and the latest version of Windows, as well as PC and general computer keyboarding experience.
    • Ability to communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions while dealing with a standardized set of concrete variables.
    • Ability to travel to branch locations to maintain computer systems.
    • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedures.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee will be required to work mostly indoors in a climate-controlled office setting; infrequently however, the employee will be working in a Datacenter that is fan cooled to low temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate except when in the Datacenter or Server Rooms where the noise level can be high.

    This position allows for an optional hybrid work arrangement which includes a combination of both in-office and remote work arrangements. (Maximum of two days remote, three days in-office). To be eligible for the program, employees must complete a minimum of 6 months of continuous, regular employment, be in good standing, and submit a formal hybrid work application prior to being eligible for hybrid work, pending supervisor approval. Work schedules will be established by the employee's supervisor according to business needs. Working locations and schedules may be altered at management discretion.
