This is a full-time, benefit eligible position Monday through Friday from 6:45am-3:15pm.
Job Summary
Assist in coordinating the general work flow of communications and switchboard operations and workflow environment. Responsible for assisting the leadership with staffing issues, scheduling maintenance, department training, and orientation of new employees. Will provide information to leadership regarding circumstances related to work performance and department issues in a timely manner. Ensure consistency of workload dissemination. Responsible for the operation of designated and assigned switchboard to assure the relay of incoming, outgoing, inter-office, and emergency calls. Maintains and keeps working environment in reasonable order. Must be able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people and different age groups. Must be tactful and persistent, but have the ability to remain patient and calm. Must be able to make quick decisions and remain emotionally stable during crisis situations. Lead must have the ability to display extraordinary professionalism and tact when interacting with customers and employees during stressful situations and busy times. Demonstrates empathy and caring attitude towards customers who are under stress. Coordinates the on-call schedule for appropriate areas, alarms for fire panel, security ramps, monitors, code blue panel, gas panel, etc. Informs authorities of malfunctioning equipment. Ensures directions needed for callers regarding various hospital departments, clinics and other Sanford locations are accurate and up-to-date.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Five years of switchboard or customer service experience, preferred.
