Job Summary: Under the supervision of the Patient Access Manager/Supervisor, operates the computerized telephone, and PBX switchboard. Operates electronic communication system, and hospital information systems. Receives and transmits emergency messages for various staff and hospital alarm notices. Operates overhead, voice, digital and other paging systems. Reports irregularities in equipment operation. Performs various clerical duties. Gives directions, information and instructions to patients, visitors, hospital staff and others. Assists as needed in Patient Registration performing quick registration functions, assist in directing patient and visitor flow.
Educational/Licensing: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Qualifications: Experience handling multi-line telephone. Excellent communication skills.
