    Your Job:


    As the Sustainability Analyst, you will play an integral role in executing Brooks’ Corporate Responsibility (CR) Planet strategy. You will execute initiatives while managing evolving programs that provide the foundation of our efforts to understand, validate, and reduce the environmental impact of our product and manufacturing. Working closely with our product teams, you will bring insights and recommendations to empower them to achieve our CR Planet targets.

    Your Responsibilities:
    • Own the seasonal product sustainability assessments process, incorporating Higg product tools and Brooks’ CR Planet targets, conducting analysis and benchmarking, providing feedback to product teams, and contributing to the overall product scorecard process
    • Track environmental KPIs related to our materials, analyze performance, generate reports, and present feedback and recommendations to product teams.
    • Execute Brooks’ adoption of the Higg Product tools, becoming Brooks’ “superuser” for the Higg Materials Sustainability Index (Higg MSI) and the Higg Product Module (Higg PM).
    • Provide expertise to marketing on product sustainability and contribute to Brooks’ wider CR communications
    • Monitor emerging trends in product sustainability and develop recommendations to maximize our opportunities to reduce our environmental impact
    • Support the wider Corporate Responsibility team as needed
    • Additional Key Responsibilities:
    • Own Brooks’ carbon neutral product program. This will include the purchasing of carbon offsets, as well as tracking and retiring carbon credits 
    • Lead the understanding of product carbon footprints and conduct life cycle impact assessments, share results through comprehensive reports and make recommendations to reduce our product impact
    • Perform life cycle impact modeling and data collection initiatives, evaluating the environmental impact of new manufacturing processes and facilities and transportation scenarios, collaborating closely with external partners to ensure credible and accurate data
    • Act as the subject matter expert for product carbon footprint standards such as the ISO 14040 & 14067 standards and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Product Standard


    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Sustainability, Material Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of experience
    • 3 years’ experience in sustainability or relevant work
    • Strong analytical skills and experience in collecting and evaluating complex data with the ability to translate this into meaningful insight that can be clearly articulated to stakeholders
    • Ability to create strong and meaningful relationships with stakeholders including internal teams, suppliers, and any other 3rd party organizations to drive change
    • Self-motivated with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally if needed
    • Additional Qualifications:
    • Experience in performing carbon footprint assessments related to products and processes, as well as understanding life cycle impact assessments across various environmental attributes
    • Experience modeling product carbon footprint assessments in software designed for life cycle assessments (i.e., SimaPro, LCA For Experts…)
    • Experience working with streamlined product carbon footprint assessment tools such as the Worldly’s Product Tools (Higg Material Sustainability Index or Higg Product Module)
    • Knowledge of carbon credits, including related standards and concepts such as additionality, permanence, and reduction versus avoidance
    • Experience researching and using life cycle inventory factors and databases
    • Strong knowledge and understanding of greenhouse gas emissions, especially indirect Scope 3 emissions

    Compensation:

    The pay range for this position, based out of the Brooks Seattle HQ, is $73,515 - $110,272 per year. Base pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
