The purpose of this job is to calculate and analyze greenhouse gases and metrics related to sustainability. Creates materials and illustrates sustainability data. Collaborates across departments to develop sustainability programs for the City of Columbia.

- Identifies, collects, and processes data from internal and external sources.

Creates reports, visualizations, dashboards, and presentations to share and communicate data.

Builds systems and processes to manage data.

Collaborates with departments and entities to support implementation of Climate Action and Adaptation Plan.

Researches best practices and collaborates with peers.

Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

Performs other duties as assigned.

- No supervisory authority. Work does require providing guidance and training to others.

Education and Experience - An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Data Science, or a related field.

3 to 5 years’ experience in data management, sustainability, and marketing/communication.
Licenses or Certifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative, but not all-inclusive of those commonly associated with this position
Knowledge of:
- Greenhouse gas inventory processes and terminology.

Data management software applications such as Microsoft Office and Portfolio Manager.

Principles of statistics, sampling, and probability theory.
Skill in:

Communicating verbally and in writing to meet the needs of the audience.

Starting Salary
$24.94 - $30.67 per hour, commensurate with training/experience
