We are interviewing for a full-time Sustainability Data Analyst at our Denver location. Candidate should have 2-5 years of experience with relational databases, data visualization/dashboarding (in particular using Power BI) and integrating data from a variety of sources via API and other methods. Position will be supporting the ongoing integration of air, greenhouse gas (GHG) projects and inventories, and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) data for reporting and assurance efforts as well as supporting the development of internal and client-facing tools using off the shelf software.
Knowledge of Colorado emissions inventory state regulations and federal GHG rules preferred but not required, and exposure to the oil and gas sector or related industries would enhance the opportunities to be successful in the position. Candidates meeting the minimum requirements and higher are encouraged to apply; this position is designed for a subject matter expert to take a leadership role when they are ready to do so.
Position Overview
Spirit’s sustainability team is growing, and we are looking to grow our advanced data management services. Our Spirit team includes numerous team members with data management experience, and this position is intended to bolster that experience with someone who has the ability to successfully troubleshoot, design and implement data solutions for clients. This position will have the ability to advance rapidly to a leadership role or even start in such a role if they have sufficient experience in the consulting model and leading team members.
With the rapid advance of GHG regulations in Colorado and at the Federal level, there is a significant increase in the demand for assurance, increased frequency of reporting, and complex reconciliation of empirical and estimated data. Spirit serves sophisticated clients looking to drive better and faster solutions to become more sustainable and are looking to Spirit to assist them on their journey. Spirit data management team members work with external software and platforms and build out bespoke solutions to integrate and display critical ESG data for decision-making purposes.
Other anticipated tasks would include supporting and leading GHG inventory efforts, assurance of inventories prepared by others, and providing more data tools to inform operational efforts in a timely fashion. Spirit is a strong proponent of the ability of data to tell and drive positive narratives in the sustainability space and maintaining that larger perspective while being able to build out functionality will lead to additional success in the position.
Desired areas of expertise include SQL, Microsoft Power BI/Power Query, Python, Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, Office 365, Teams, and web-based programming.

This role is a salaried position with a typical range of $75,000 - $95,000 annually. Spirit bases all pay determinations on experience, skills, and performance.
