SURVEILLANCE SUPERVISOR implements policies and procedures for the surveillance department. Ensures compliance with gaming requirements set by state gaming authority and local law enforcement. General Summary of Duties: Responsible for supervising the Surveillance Agents within the department.
Reports To: Surveillance Manager
Supervises: Surveillance Senior Agent
Typical Physical/Mental Demands: Ability to maintain visual attention and mental concentration for long periods of time. Supervisors will be required to sit and stand for long periods at a time. They must possess the ability to effectively communicate with other departments by either telephone or radio. Supervisors must possess the ability to bend over and reach from floor level to 6 feet and be able to lift five (5) pounds. Requires the use of office equipment, such as computer, typewriter, fax machine, telephone, calculator, copier, and printer. Predictable attendance is required.
Typical Working Conditions:
Surveillance Supervisors must possess the ability to work in small areas and in close proximity with other employees for prolonged periods of time. Work is performed in areas that may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, smoky, dimly lit or illuminated. Work schedules vary and require holiday, night, and weekend shifts on a regular basis.
Examples of Duties (includes but is not limited to the following):
1. Observe, document and report on all areas under surveillance to ensure compliance of internal regulations, policies and procedures, as well as, all state and federal regulations.
2. Record and observe all casino games, count rooms, slots, casino cage and non–gaming areas.
3. Must possess a working knowledge of all casino games, policies and procedures, card counting techniques and having a working knowledge of different cheating techniques.
4. Write detailed investigative reports.
5. Recommend appropriate progressive disciplinary action when necessary.
6. At the discretion of the Surveillance Manager, one or more of the Surveillance Supervisors may be designated for the following duties:
a. Repair and conduct preventative maintenance on surveillance cameras and related equipment as required.
b. Update inventory of all surveillance camera and related equipment and notify the Surveillance Manager when replenishment orders may be needed.
c. Participate in the installation, movements, and removals of surveillance cameras and related equipment.
7. Effectively communicate with all departments.
8. Assists with the safety and security of all guests and employees.
9. Develops staff, conducts interviews, recommends hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates all personnel in compliance with Human Resource policies.
10. Required to take and pass tests related to Internal Control Procedures.
11. Must have a strong knowledge of all Marketing promotions and events.
12. Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Surveillance Supervisors will ensure that personnel are performing the necessary guidelines that are outlined in the departments’ policies and procedures manual. All Supervisors must possess the ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English. Supervisors will conduct training of new hires, assist in the evaluation of manpower needs, and evaluate personnel to ensure departmental objectives are being achieved. Supervisors will work with the Director in coordinating activities related to the surveillance of gaming tables, slot machines, cashier’s cage and non-gaming related areas (back of the house, retail, etc). In addition, will promote outstanding customer relations and ensures all transactions are conducted within the states gaming and internal regulations. Develop a strong knowledge of the Internal Control System. Understand and comply with the Internal Control System, BHCR training materials, and all HR policies. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data, casino procedures, company policies, company promotions, and with the identity of any person at the facility or any activity at the facility is essential.
Supervisors must be able to follow instructions, be able to work any shift and perform any related task given to them by the Director of Surveillance.
Certificate/License: Gaming License Level II.
Minimum Age Requirement: 21 Years.
