Surgical Neurophysiologist performs testing and monitoring of the nervous system during surgery to assist the surgeons in avoiding or reducing complications such as paralysis, hearing loss, or stroke. Conducts Electroencephalograms, Electromyographies, Somatosensory Evoked Potentials, Brainstem Auditory Evoked Potentials, direct nerve testing, and other modalities intraoperatively, and communicates findings to the operating room team. Being a Surgical Neurophysiologist typically requires a bachelor's degree in related area. Requires Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) from the American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists. - Applicant must have a WA State Department of Health dental assistant license.
- Applicants must have a valid and unexpired certificate of completion of BLS.
- Applicants already with a dental anesthesia assistant license from the WA State Department of Health will be given preferential treatment and higher compensation.
- Applicants with an ACLS Certificate will be preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of steady employment is preferable.
