Surgeon - Trauma jobs in Kansas

Surgeon - Trauma examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats critically injured patients. Performs emergency procedures including endotracheal tube intubation, tube thoracostomy, pericardiocentesis, ultrosonographic evaluation, and peritoneal lavage. Being a Surgeon - Trauma reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Trauma may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice.     Wesley Medical Center is assisting with the recruitment of a fellowship trained trauma surgeon for coverage of their level 1 trauma center.

    Qualified Candidates:
    • Available full-time for 10-14 shifts/month
    • Board eligible or board certified in general surgery and critical care
    • Physicians with critical care fellowship training preferred
    • Option for general surgery resident teaching
    • Join group of three dedicated trauma surgeons and six general surgeons, taking trauma call
    • Dedicated Physician Assistant service for trauma
    Incentive/Benefits Package:
    • Receive 100% of trauma shift pay percentage of receipts
    • Malpractice coverage provided
    • Ability to participate in insurance plans provided by group
    • Partnership option after two years
