Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats patients that have abnormal structures of the body caused by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors, or disease. Performs surgery to improve functions and to approximate a normal appearance. Being a Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Plastic Reconstructive may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional clinical expertise in assisting with surgical procedures, alongside strong organizational skills to effectively coordinate surgeries and patient care. This role demands a balance of clinical proficiency, administrative acumen, and interpersonal finesse to ensure seamless patient experiences and optimal surgical outcomes.

    Duties:

    • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals in the surgical team to provide high-quality patient care during surgical procedures.
    • Assist in preparing the operating room, including setting up equipment, instruments, and sterile supplies.
    • Provide direct assistance to the surgeon during procedures, anticipating needs and maintaining a sterile field.
    • Monitor patient vital signs, assess surgical sites, and intervene as necessary to ensure patient safety and well-being.
    • Administer medications and intravenous fluids as directed by the surgical team.
    • Participate in post-operative care, including wound management, patient education, and documentation.
    • Adhere to facility policies and protocols.
    • Understand HIPAA and the importance of maintaining patient confidentiality.
    • Have proper etiquette for assigned jobs and respect all our patients.
    • Advanced knowledge of the types of surgical procedures and treatments offered at the practice.

    Qualifications:

    • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license and current certification as a Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA).
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as an RNFA in a surgical setting, preferably in plastic or reconstructive surgery.
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a surgery coordinator preferably in plastic or reconstructive surgery.
