Surgeon - Pediatric examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats children from the newborn stage through late adolescence. Treats a wide variety of problems children may have, which may include appendicitis, hernias, cancer, or a serious congenital anomaly. Being a Surgeon - Pediatric reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Pediatric may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. We are Nebraska's only specialty and emergency/critical care hospital. We have been a leader in small animal specialty medicine in Nebraska, Northern Kansas, South Dakota, and Western Iowa for the last decade! Our team includes board-certified specialists in Emergency & Critical Care, Internal Medicine, Neurology, and Surgery; we also have Diagnostic Imaging providing services as independent contractors. Our Emergency Department operates 24/7/365, and offers a mentorship program for new emergency doctors.
