Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice. The role of the Front Office Administrator is to provide exceptional service to patients and customers while providing outstanding support to practitioners. The Front Office Administrator ensures that patient needs and visit expectations are met at check-in and check-out. This position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operations in the fast-paced environment of the clinic with the goal of a positive patient experience with every encounter. The ideal candidate is someone who is professional, able to multi-task, has great customer service skills, and is able to work in a fast paced work environment.
Duties and responsibilities- Greets and assists patients, scheduling appointments, maintaining records and accounts.
- Checks in and registers patients in a timely manner.
- Enters demographics and verifies patient insurance information prior to initial appointment.
- Explains financial requirements and collects payments for office visits and clinic procedures.
- Coordinates with staff to ensure a positive patient flow and waiting room experience.
- Reviews patients paperwork at check-out, facilitates post visit follow-up appointments.
- Answers telephones, forwards telephone messages, manage faxes, copying and scanning as needed.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Required skills and qualifications- High School Diploma or GED with 1-year front office experience in a medical office; orthopedic experience preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently as Practitioners are not in the office daily.
- Able to perform basic mathematics for payment calculation.
- Experience with Word and Excel.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
