Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice.     This is an exciting, ground-floor opportunity for a highly motivated Surgeon to not only live in paradise, but to create your dream practice. You’ll be joining a team of like-minded specialists committed to delivering progressive veterinary care in our boutique hospital.

    Care has always delivered the highest quality patient care with exceptional service. Our clients demand the best and to be successful you will need to be personable and work to create an atmosphere necessary for long term relationships. The local veterinary community is also crucial to the hospital's success, so thorough daily communication with our referral veterinarians is a must. 

    Inside our historical building (once home to a speakeasy!) is a 6,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility featuring 2 surgical suites, ultrasound, a tower for laparoscopy/arthroscopy and endoscopy, and three oxygen cages. Additionally, we have a large shared doctor's office that promotes team work amongst peers, but also allows for quiet time to perform administrative work. Our veterinary team includes a board certified Internist, and Criticalist, along with 4 Emergency doctors and dedicated, surgery trained RVTs.

    Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The annual salary range for this position is $120,000 to $300,000. This position may also be eligible for other variable pay programs.
