Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice. About the Position:
Tidelands Health is recruiting TWO Orthopedic Surgeons - a General Orthopedic Surgeon and an Orthopedic Surgeon focusing on Hip and Knee Joint Arthroplasty.
Our general orthopedic position will be based primarily for our Georgetown, South Carolina orthopedics practice. This location has two full-time orthopedic surgeons and one physician assistant. The Georgetown practice has imaging onsite and is within Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital, where surgeries will be performed in our four newer ORs.
Our orthopedic hip and knee joint arthroplasty position is located in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. This location has eight surgeons and six advanced practice providers. The main practice in Murrells Inlet is next to our Tidelands Health Waccamaw Community Hospital with eight ORs - offering full imaging and support services on site.
Tidelands Health Orthopedics is composed of a skilled team of eight orthopedic surgeons, and six physician assistants providing comprehensive orthopedic care. Current surgeons provide care in totals, hips/knees, shoulders, feet/ankle, hand, spine and sports medicine. The need is for a generalist to work in one home practice and a second satellite. The entire orthopedic practice consists of three locations serving Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg counties. Both hospitals, Georgetown Memorial and Waccamaw Community, have a total inpatient bed count of 340 that includes med/surg, ICU, ortho, and rehab. All are health-system employed with great benefits and compensation. Due to the population growth of the Myrtle Beach region, we are growing in all aspects of healthcare.
