Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice. Located on the picturesque Maine coastline, Waldo County General Hospital is seeking a BC/BE Orthopedic Surgeon to join its expanding medical staff. Work within a regional Healthcare system with a large primary care referral network to help serve the coastal Maine communities. Practice in a busy clinic collaborating with two Physicians and two Physician Assistants caring for the coast. This position is a full-time opportunity with one to two days in the operating room and two days in the clinic. The newly renovated, beautiful orthopedic clinic is located inside the hospital and allows easy patient access.
