Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice.   • Columbia Memorial Hospital (CMH) and Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible General Surgeon to join the CMH-OHSU Health General Surgery & Wound Care Clinic.

    The well-established practice currently includes 2 general surgeons. The candidate will have comfort in all aspects of all general surgery procedures, including endoscopy, cholecystectomy, breast biopsy and mastectomies.  The candidate will participate in 1:3 or 1:4 call as assigned. Opportunities are available for local leadership positions within the medical group and various committees.

    The selected candidate must be team-oriented and have the ability to interact well with colleagues inside and out of the group. Our surgeons interact regularly with multiple surgical and non-surgical subspecialties as well as the hospitalist service and outpatient Primary Care.
