Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The new surgeon will see patients in an established office and surgery center in the Midland / Odessa area. There is also an option for the surgeon to see patients in their own office, should they have an existing practice where they are seeking to add volume.
Typical duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
- consult with patients to determine appropriate courses of treatment
- conduct full patient examinations
- order and interpret diagnostic tests
- obtain information on medical conditions to determine diagnosis
- provide consultation and comprehensive management of patients
- perform necessary surgical procedures in the treatment of injuries and related symptoms
- monitor patients’ conditions and progress
- reevaluate patients’ conditions and progress as necessary
The exact details of the position are negotiable and will be collaboratively decided between the practice and the physician.
The practice operates its own outpatient clinics, advanced imaging centers, and ambulatory surgery centers. In all settings, physicians are fully supported by dedicated clinical assistants and administrative staff.
