Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice.     • Remove impacted, damaged and non-restorable teeth
    • Administer general and local anesthetics
    • Treat infections of the oral cavity, salivary glands, jaws and neck
    • Treat issues with the oral mucosa, including mouth ulcers and infections

    Educational requirements:

    • DMD or DDS degree
    • Current dental license in state of hire
    • Completion of oral surgery residency program
    • Ability to travel overnight to training sessions once a month during your first year of employment
    • Minimum 12 months experience preferred, but not required
