Surgeon - Orthopedic jobs in Fort Wayne, IN

Surgeon - Orthopedic examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. Performs surgical procedures to immobilize fractures by using corrective devices such as braces, pins, casts, and splints. Being a Surgeon - Orthopedic reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. Additionally, Surgeon - Orthopedic may provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to a medical director. Requires a license to practice.     Parkview Physicians Group is actively recruiting a Board Eligible/Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon to join the largest standalone multi-specialty facility in Bryan, Ohio.

    Specifics of Your Role as an Orthopedic Surgeon

    • This position is full timeminimum of 36 clinical hours per week
    • Hours are Monday – Friday 8am - 5pm with flexibility for extended hours before 8am or after 5pm and the opportunity to work Saturdays
    • Position involves 60% clinic-based work and 40% hospital-based work
    • Expected patient volume is 120 patients / week
    • Expected surgery volume is 10-15 procedures / week
    • Call schedule is 1:3light; telephone

    The Team

    • Our team consists of 1 physician and 1 advanced practice provider
    • Satellite office coverage is required at our Archbold, Ohio location 15 miles from the Bryan location
    • Cases include general orthopedic concerns, fractures, joint replacement in addition to the procedures that we perform including hardware removal, foreign body/mass/cyst removal, trigger finger release, incision and drainage and revision of digit amputation
    • Collaborate with non-Parkview hospital (located right across the street) for OR
