We are a single-specialty practice exclusively treating diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles all day, every day.

This is where you come in. To help us accomplish our mission and goals, we are looking for talented, motivated, and humble team players to join
About You
Are you self-driven and eager to get things done, yet patient and methodical? Do you hold yourself to a high standard and take pride in your attention to detail? Do you welcome feedback and direction and relish in information and learning? Do you want to pet all the dogs and cats?
If you find yourself answering yes to these questions, consider SEVN as the next step in your career.
Specialty is an area you might have considered working in before, and you might even feel a little bit intimidated by the thought of making such a move. Perhaps you’ve asked yourself questions like, “am I really good enough?”
Don’t let this be the reason not to apply. Because we are a single-discipline service, things are much more orderly and less chaotic than other veterinary specialty hospitals.
This gives us the opportunity to be able to train you intensively and provides you with the chance to get really good at what you do because you are not being pulled in ten different directions each day! It’s also evidence that growth and teamwork are baked into our values!
About The Role
Because we are single-specialty, things are much more orderly and less chaotic than other hospitals. This gives us the opportunity to train you intensively and you the chance to get really good at what you do.
Most importantly, the work you’ll do at Southeast Veterinary Neurology matters, because we do amazing things, like help paralyzed pets walk again!
The primary role will be working in the Exam Room Department assisting with the intake of patients
This is the perfect step to get into Veterinary Neurology and begin to expand your skills if you've just started the field or have been in customer service in the veterinary field and want to begin to expand your skills! The role requires lots of client communication and relaying histories taken from them to the veterinarian. This position also requires some level of skill in the pharmacy and lab area, but we can always teach you and guide you through that. Working with the pharmacy and lab is a requirement with the exam room nurse role.
There isn't much of the hands-on with the ICU area just yet, but after you have been fully trained in your primary role (can take 6-12 months) there is always room for growth into other departments!
If this is your first foray into the world of veterinary specialty nursing then it is likely you will rotate through the different departments to gain experience before specializing after your primary role and training has been established for a minimum of 6-12 months.
Your initial veterinary technician duties may include:
One of our core values is availability because some cases may require us to stay a few hours extra to take care of that pet. We may also need to come in after-hours for an emergency case that just can’t wait until the morning. When this happens, of course, you will be compensated accordingly for the additional hours.
We put it upfront though because if this is something you are not up for, then veterinary neurology probably isn’t the niche of veterinary technician work for you.
The Compensation Package
