Surgeon - Neurology examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats disorders of the brain, spine, spinal cord, and nerves. Operates on the brain in order to relieve pressure in an intracranial hemorrhage, remove a foreign body such as a tumor, treat a wound, or relieve pain. Being a Surgeon - Neurology operates on the spine in order to free entrapped nerves, correct deformity, or restore spinal stability. Reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Additionally, Surgeon - Neurology determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. May provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. · Answer telephones, closeout calls whenever possible and direct calls to other staff when appropriate.
· Room patients, take a history, get vital signs, reconcile medications, write prescriptions for MD/NPP signature, check patients out after visit
· Keep up with appointment wait times (lobby and in exam rooms) and work to keep clinic running on time
· Schedule and confirm patient diagnostic appointments, surgeries, or medical consultations.
· Operate office equipment, such as voice mail messaging systems, and use word processing, spreadsheet, or other software applications to prepare reports, or medical records.
· Maintain medical records, technical library, or correspondence files.
· Greet visitors, ascertain purpose of visit, and direct them to appropriate staff.
· Compile and record medical charts, reports, or correspondence, using computer software in office.
· Receive and route messages or documents, such as laboratory results, to appropriate staff or location in the electronic chart.
· Transmit correspondence or medical records by e-fax.
· Perform various clerical or administrative functions, such as ordering and maintaining an inventory of supplies.
· Interview patients to complete documents, case histories, or forms, such as intake or insurance forms.
· Any other related duty per managing partner to ensure the highest quality of customer service.
