Surgeon - Neurology jobs in Alabama
Surgeon - Neurology examines, diagnoses, and surgically treats disorders of the brain, spine, spinal cord, and nerves. Operates on the brain in order to relieve pressure in an intracranial hemorrhage, remove a foreign body such as a tumor, treat a wound, or relieve pain. Being a Surgeon - Neurology operates on the spine in order to free entrapped nerves, correct deformity, or restore spinal stability. Reviews patient history and confirms need for surgery. Additionally, Surgeon - Neurology determines which instruments and method of surgery will be most successful in achieving desired outcome. May provide medical personnel with direction concerning patient care. May provide in-service training as needed to address new technology in health care treatment. Provides charting in compliance with all laws and regulations. Requires a MD degree from an accredited school. Typically reports to the chief of surgery. Requires a license to practice. Job Summary: The Flowers Medical Group Patient Representative performs clerical, coding and auditing duties as well as any other job duties deemed necessary to ensure optimal patient care within the physician clinic. Performs Check-in and Check-out functions to include obtaining all patient information and accurately creating an electronic patient record. Scans insurance card and driver’s license in Athena. Observes patient waiting area for cleanliness and organization at all time. This position does not deliver direct patient care.
Qualifications:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Computer training and college course work is preferred.
Experience: One (1) year clerical experience in physician office or hospital preferred. Billing experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: BLS preferred.
